*Letters from Rav Menachem Mendel Gefner, who thought up and initiated the custom of the mass Birkas Kohanim at the Kosel Hamaaravi, including a long, interesting letter in which he writes: "I would suggest that he maintain one mishmar (shift) of Tehillim throughout the first month, which is a very great benefit to the neshamah, because at the time when Tehillm is recited, which takes approximately two hours, Dovid Hamelech is me'orer rachamim and meilitz yosher for the neshamah. The cost is approximately $125 for one mishmar every day for an entire month. This is what I did when my father-in-law passed away approximately 2 years ago. Then he came to my daughter… in a dream and told her "Go tell your father that he accomplished great things for me there, and tell him that I will always be a meilitz yosher for him for this…"

*מכתבים מרבי מנחם מנדל גפנר הוגה ויוזם מנהג ברכת כהנים ההמוני בכותל המערבי כולל מכתב ארוך ומעניין שבין הדברים כותב: "הייתי מציע לו הצעה שיחזיק משמר אחד של תהלים לכל החודש הראשון שזה טובה גדולה מאוד להנשמה כי בזמן שאומרים התהלים שזה לוקח בערך 2 שעות אז דהע"ה [דוד המלך עליו השלום] מעורר רחמים ומליץ יושר על הנשמה זה עולה בערך 125 דולר משמר אחד בכל יום ויום לכל החודש וכן עשיתי כשנפטר חמי ז"ל לפני 2 שנה בערך, אחר כך בא בחלום לבתי ...... ואמר לה לכי ואמרי לאבא שעשה לי טובות גדולות שם ואמרי לו שתמיד אהי' לו למליץ יושר בעד זה.............".
