Rare edition listed in the Institute for Hebrew Bibliography based on a copy from the Rambam Library; does not appear in the National Library catalog. Signature of the Tzefas-based shtadlan Harav Chaim Yaakov HaKohen Feinstein. Sans binding. Most of the paper is thick and of high quality. Very few tears and a few solitary worming holes. A few stains. Condition: Very Good. Harav Chaim Yaakov HaKohen Feinstein, a resident of Tzefas and Jerusalem, was a shtadlan (intercessor) and a Torah scholar. Between 1866 and 1887 he traveled three times as an emissary of Kollel Hachassidim in Tzefas. His travels took him all the way to Sanaa in Yemen and Cochin (today Kochi) in India. While in Cochin, upon seeing Jews traveling by train on Shabbos, he authored his work, Imrei Shabbos  (Calcutta 1874), discussing this prohibition. He also authored Toras Imecha , a book of mussar  for the Jews of India regarding improper customs that had taken root there, as well as a pamphlet entitled Mashbis Milchamos, on the subject of the Jewish status of the black-skinned Jews of Cochin. יקר המציאות! ארחות צדיקים עם איגרת הרמב”ן. זיטאמיר תר”ז 1847. מספרי זיטאמיר המוקדמים והנדירים!! חתימת שד”ר צפת רבי חיים יעקב הכהן פיינשטיין. ספר 'ארחות צדיקים' עם אגרת הרמב”ן. מספרי זיטומיר הנדירים והמוקדמים! זיטומיר, בדפוס רבי חנינא ליפא, ורבי אריה ליב ורבי יהושע העשיל שפירא נכדי הרב מסלאוויטא. תר”ז 1847. 1, פ”ב דף; 15 ס”מ. מהדורה נדירה שנרשמה במפעל הביבליוגרפיה ע”פ עותק מספריית הרמב”ם, ולא מופיעה בקטלוג הספרייה הלאומית. חתימת שד”ר צפת רבי חיים יעקב הכהן פיינשטיין. ללא כריכה. רובו נייר עבה משובח. מעט מאוד קרעים ונקבי עש בודדים. מעט כתמים. מצב טוב מאוד. רבי חיים יעקב הכהן פיינשטיין מתושבי צפת וירושלים, שד”ר ותלמיד חכם. בשנים תרכ”ו - תרמ”ז נסע שלושה פעמים כשד”ר עבור כולל החסידים בצפת, בנסיעותיו הרחיק נדוד עד לצנעא שבתימן ועד לקוצ'ין שבהודו. כששהה בקוצ'ין וראה כי ישנם יהודים שנסעו ברכבת בשב”ק חיבר את ספרו 'אמרי שבת' (כלכתא, תרל”ד) על האיסור בכך. חיבר גם את הספר 'תורת אמך' תוכחות מוסר ליהודי הודו על מנהגים שאינם ראויים שרווחו במקומם, וכן את הקונטרס 'משבית מלחמות' על יהדותם של היהודים השחורים בקוצ'ין.
