Antique French silver Kiddush goblet with etching of a lion and initials in a foreign language, along with the words Borei Pri Hagafen. Marked silver 950. Paris circa 1820 It appears that the engraving of the lion itself and the initials underneath it were etched when the goblet was made. It is possible that the engravings of the Star of David and the words Borei Pri Hagafen were added later on; we have no idea when. Circumference: 7 cm. Height: 7.5 cm. Minor imperfections. General Condition: Good גביע כסף צרפתי עתיק, עם חריטת אריה וראשי תיבות בלועזית, והכיתוב 'בורא פרי הגפן'. כסף 950 חתום. פאריז 1820 בקירוב גביע כסף רחב. כסף 950, חותמות יצרן וחותמות כסף צרפתיים, כולל חותמת שבין השנים 1819 עד 1838. על הגביע חרוט אריה אוחז מקל עם מגן דוד בראשו. מתחת לאריה חרוט שם בראשי תיבות בלועזית ומעל האריה חרוט המילים 'בורא פרי הגפן' בעברית. נראה כי החריטה של האריה עצמו וראשי התיבות שמתחתיו נחרטו בתקופת יצור הגביע, וייתכן שחריטות המגן דוד והמילים בורא פרי הגפן נוספו לאחר מכן, ואין לנו מושג מתי. קוטר: 7 ס”מ. גובה: 7.5 ס”מ. פגמים קלים. באופן כללי מצב טוב.
