The Mohel's Ledger of Harav Avraham Yitzchak Norzi, 123 circumcisions, Mantua 1791/1819, with S efer Sod Hashem , Mantua 1743. Detailed and interesting ledger containing distinguished and well-known surnames in Italy. Sefer Sod Hashem , learning and prayers, Halachah and customs related to bris milah , by Harav David of Lida. With kavnah  and brachah  by the Ramaz - Harav Moshe Zacuto and a Kabbalistic prayer. Mantua, 1743. 27 [1] pgs; 17.5 cm. At the beginning and end of the sefer , handwriiten: the milah ledger of the mohel  Harav Avraham Yitzchak Norzi - Mantua 1791/1819. 123 circumcisions are recorded in great detail:  The date of the circumcision - Hebrew and secular/father's name/ sandak /name of the newborn/in some cases, the name of the shul where the bris  took place and other details are also noted. The first bris  listed is that of the mohel's  own son, and underneath is an inscription regarding the pidyon haben , with the signature of the mohel,   Harav Avraham Chaim Norzi. The name Mantua does not appear explicitly, but the names in the ledger make that clear, especially those of the rabbanim  who served as sandak, who were known to have been active in Mantua. For example, Bris No. 47: ”... on the knees of Harav Benzion Menachem Romanili ner”u   Rosh Yeshivaseinu ...” and Bris No. 75 ” Harav hakollel Harav Benzion Menachem  Romanili (Harav Shalom Hillel, Maseches Tmuros, see   footnote on   pg 832, and Min Hagenazim Vol. XIII pg 143). Bris 50 - ” Umaalas kevod Harav ... Ezriel Yitzchak HaLevi Rosh Yeshivaseinu ner”u heikim es shemo ...” ( Encyclopedia L'chachmei Italia pg 413). Bris 82 - ”on the knees of... Shmuel Chaim Sinigalia ner”u  (the baby's grandfather), ( Encyclopedia L'chachmei Italia pg 511). Bris 109 - The doctor, Harav Yaakov Kazis - later the Rav of Mantua. Bris 94, 110 - the sandak was Harav Asher Yitzchak Castille-Franco (community registrar of Mantua, see Shenos Dor Vador  Vol. II, pg 144). Mention is made of distinguished and well-known families in Italy, including: Kazis, Trabot, Norzi, Pano, Sforno, Padua, Rovigo, Chazak, Pinzi, Modina, Urbino, Malach, Colonna and more. Harav Menachem Avraham Foa of Sabbioneta - the mohel's brother-in-law. Among the inscriptions are Halachic topics as well. Bris 41 discusses the circumcision of a baby whose twin sister has died and mentions the custom of Harav Yisrael Gedalya Kazis. Bris 78 discusses the matter of brachos  at the bris  of twins. Handwritten on the first page of the ledger: Nusach L'Shem Yichud L'Bris Milah Total 13 leaves containing 25 written pages. Antique binding, slightly worn. The first two pages of the ledger are detached. Very few stains and tears and a few solitary worming holes. Slight damage to a few words. General Condition: Good. פנקס המוהל של רבי אברהם יצחק נורצי, 123 בריתות, מנטובה תקנ”א - ע”ט 1791/1819, עם ספר סוד ה', מנטובה תק”ג 1743. פנקס מפורט ומעניין עם שמות המיוחסות והמפורסמות באיטליה. ספר סוד ה', לימוד ותפילות, הלכה ומנהג לברית מילה, מרבי דוד מלידא. עם כוונה וברכה מהרמ”ז - רבי משה זכות ותפילה ע”פ הקבלה. מנטובה, תק”ג 1743. כז [1] דף; 17.5 ס”מ. בתחילה וסוף הספר, כתב- יד: פנקס המילה של המוהל רבי אברהם יצחק נורצי – מנטובה תקנ”א-תקע”ט 1791/1819. נרשמו קכ”ג בריתות בפירוט רב: תאריך המילה – עברי ולועזי / אבי הבן / הסנדק / שם הרך הנימול / לעיתים נרשם גם שם בית הכנסת בו נערכה הברית וכן פרטים נוספים. הברית הראשונה היא של בנו של המוהל, מתחתיה רישום על פדיון הבן שלו עם חתימת המוהל רבי אברהם חיים נורצי. שם המקום מנטובה לא נזכר במפורש אך כך עולה בבירור משמות האישים ובעיקר מהרבנים הנזכרים בפנקס ששימשו בבריתות כסנדקים וידוע שפעלו במנטובה, כמו בברית מ”ז – 'על ברכי כמהר”ר בן ציון מנחם רומנילי נר”ו ראש ישיבתינו נר”ו...' וכן בברית ע”ה 'הרב הכולל כמהר”ר בן ציון מנחם רומאנילי' (רבי שלום הלל, מסכת תמורות הע' עמ' 832, ומן הגנזים חלק יג עמ' קמ”ג). בברית נ' – 'ומעלת הרב כמהר”ר עזריאל יצחק הלוי ראש ישיבתינו נר”ו הקים את שמו...' (אנציקלופדיה לחכמי איטליה עמ' 413). בברית פ”ב 'על ברכי כמהח”ר שמואל חיים סיניגאליה נר”ו' (זקנו של הנימול), (אנציקלופדיה לחכמי איטליה עמ' 511). בברית ק”ט – הרופא רבי יעקב קאזיס – לימים רבה של מנטובה. בברית צ”ד, ק”י – הסנדק היה רבי אשר יצחק קאסטיל-פראנקו (סופר הקהל במנטובה, ראה שנות דור ודור ח”ב עמ' קמ”ד). נזכרו כאן משפחות מיוחסות ומפורסמות באיטליה ביניהם: קאזיס, טרבוט, נורצי, פאנו, ספורנו, פאדובה, רוויגו, חזק, פינצי, מודינא, אורבינו, מלאך, קולונייא ועוד. רבי מנחם אברהם פואה מסביוניטה – גיסו של המוהל. בין הרישומים ישנם גם נושאים הלכתיים, ברית מ”א, נידון מילת תינוק שהתאומה שלו נפטרה ומביא מעשה רב מרבי ישראל גדליה קאזיס, ובברית ע”ח – אופן הברכות במילת תאומים. בעמוד הראשון בפנקס (בכתב-היד): נוסח ”לשם יחוד” לברית מילה. סה”כ 13 דפים שבהם 25 עמודים כתובים. חברת בעלי ברית אברהם חלק מהסנדקים היו אלו שזכו בגורל בחברת בב”ת – בעלי ברית אברהם שפעלה בעיר. החברה הדפיסה במנטובה בשנת תקנ”א (שנת תחילת הפנקס שלפנינו) קונטרס תקנות עם שמות חברי החברה ורבים מהם נזכר בפנקס הנוכחי. כריכה עתיקה, מעט בלויה. שני דפים ראשונים מהפנקס מנותקים.
