Condition: Good. Harav Yechezkel HaLevi of Ostrovtza [1887-1943] was a saintly man and a great genius. One of the great Rebbes of his generation. Son of the Rebbe Harav Yechiel Meir of Ostrovtza [the Rebbe who fasted for forty years] and son-in-law of Harav Naphtaly of Melitz. He founded Yeshivas Beis Meir in Poland. He served as Rav in a number of places and in 1928 took over his father's position in Ostrovtza. He was killed al kiddush Hashem during World War II on the tenth of Teves. May Hashem avenge his blood. Harav Yechiel Fishel HaKohen [1895-1980] was the son of Harav Avraham Moshe HaKohen. Already at a young age, he gained renown as a great genius and was dubbed ”the ilui of Lodz.” An outstanding disciple of Harav Yechiel Meir of Ostrovtza, he was exceptionally proficient in the halachos of issur and heter, which he studied with the Rebbe Harav Yechezkel of Ostrovtza. In appreciation, Harav Yechezkel assisted Harav Yechiel Fishel extensively with regard to his move to Eretz Yisrael. Upon his move, Harav Yechiel Fishel served as a member of the Chief Rabbinate in Tel Aviv and gained renown for his righteousness and diligence. For a number of years, he served as Av Beis Din. The book Mareh Kohen features his chiddushei Torah.
