He married during the lifetime of his grandfather, the Sfas Emes, and merited being close to him. His second wife was the daughter of Harav Avraham Dovid Naphtaly Yerachmiel Rabinowitz, the Rebbe of Porisov. During World War II, he was forced to go into hiding because they thought that he was the Rebbe of Gur. He was killed al kiddush Hashem.
