The candle used by Harav Chaim Kanievsky for bedikas chametz (2007). A light for the auspicious  eis ratzon of Erev Pesach and the annual siyum ceremony of Maran Sar HaTorah. The candle used by Harav Chaim Kanievsky to search for chametz. Bedikas chametz with Maran Sar HaTorah would last several hours. He would begin each year immediately after the first Maariv and conclude toward midnight or even later. He would personally inspect the house with the assistance of his grandchildren and other mekuravim. He was very meticulous in his search, refraining from speaking from the blessing until the search was over unless he had to say something directly related to the search. He would search all the rooms and was particularly pleased if chametz was found. Since the search lasted several hours, the candles would burn out and be replaced; this is the last candle used in that year’s bedikas chametz . The search took place just a few hours before Harav Chaim's annual siyum ceremony on the auspicious day of Erev Pesach. Every year, many people would gather at his home, and he would also drink a lechaim from the famous “ siyum  wine” that was on the table at the Siyum HaShas, renowned for its wondrous efficacy for blessings and salvation. Sold by Harav Chaim's grandson, with authentication to be provided to the buyer. Wax candle, 17 cm high. Minor break, a few stains and signs of use. White tape with the handwritten message ”Maran Hagra”ch Kanievsky, Bedikas Chametz [57]67.” Overall Condition: Good. הנר שהשתמש בו מרן שר התורה רבי חיים קניבסקי בבדיקת החמץ(תשס”ז). אור לזמן המסוגל, עת הרצון של ערב פסח ומעמד הסיום השנתי של מרן שר התורה. הנר של רבינו מרן שר התורה הגאון רבי חיים קנייבסקי, בו חיפש לאורו בבדיקת החמץ. בדיקת החמץ אצל רבינו מרן שר התורה הייתה אורכת במשך שעות ארוכות, מכיוון שהיה מתחיל כל שנה מיד אחרי המעריב הראשון והיה מסיים אי שם לקראת חצות הלילה או אח”כ, וכן היה בודק בעצמו את הבית בעזרת נכדיו ומקורביו, היה מדקדק מאוד בבדיקת החמץ ונהג שלא לדבר בכל זמן הבדיקה החל מהברכה ועד לסיום הבדיקה רק מענייני הבדיקה. רבינו היה עובר בכל החדרים ושמח מאוד אם מצא חמץ. מאחר ובדיקת החמץ הייתה מספר שעות, אז במהלך הבדיקה היו מסתיימים נרות והיה מחליפם, ולפנינו הנר האחרון מבדיקת חמץ זו. יש לציין כי הבדיקה הייתה נערכת שעות ספורות לפני הסיום השנתי של מרן שר התורה הגר”ח, בזמן המסוגל של ערב פסח, אז מידי שנה רבים היו מתאספים אצלו והיה גם שותה 'לחיים' מ'יין הסיומים' הנודע, שעמד אז על השולחן בעת סיום הש”ס, וידוע בסגולתו המופלאה לישועות וברכות. נמכר ע”י נכד רבינו, ואישורו יימסר לזוכה. נר שעווה בגובה 17 ס”מ. שבר קל ומעט כתמים וסימני שימוש. דבק לבן עליו נרשם בכ”י: ”מרן הגר”ח קניבסקי”, ”בדיקת חמץ ס”ז”. באופן כללי מצב טוב.
