Lengthy letter, approximately three pages, handwritten and signed by Harav Chaim Kanievsky, addressed to his mechutan, Harav Shachna Kolodetsky, 41 notes for the printing of the commentary of Rabbeinu Hillel, one of the great Rishonim, on Sifri. Ta’anis Esther 1972. “I am copying here for Kvod Toraso what I wrote in...   of Sifri.” Lengthy letter handwritten and signed by Harav Chaim Kanievsky. 41 notes for the printing of the commentary on Sifri by Rabbeinu Hillel, one of the great early authorities. At the end, Harav Kanievsky writes: “…and I wish him a happy Purim and all the best, and I request that when the Sifri is published, with Hashem's help, that he send me a copy.” Ta’anis Esther 1972. Double-lined paper. 60 lines handwritten by Harav Chaim Kanievsky, plus his signature. 16/20 cm. Fold lines and tears inside them. Stains. Condition: Fair - Good. Rabbeinu Hillel ben Harav Elyakim was among the greatest Rishonim, who most likely lived in the era of the Baalei HaTosafos. He composed a commentary on some of the Halachic Midrashim; we do not have any of his other works.  His commentary is cited in Tosafos and also by the Rash miShantz, the Ra'avyah, the Ri”d, the Mordechai, and others. His works were published in print in editions edited by Harav Shachna Kolodetzky. מכתב ארוך, כשלושה עמודים בכי”ק וחתימתו של רבינו חיים קניבסקי, למחותנו רבי שכנא קולדצקי, 41 הערות להדפסת פירוש רבינו הילל מגדולי הראשונים על הספרי. תענית אסתר תשל”ב ”הנני להעתיק לכת”ר מה שכתבתי בגליון הספרי”. מכתב ארוך בכתב יד קדשו וחתימתו של מרן שר התורה הגאון רבי חיים קנייבסקי. 41 הערות להדפסת פירוש על הספרי מרבינו הילל מגדולי הראשונים. בסוף כותב מרן הגר”ח: ”... ומברכו בפורים שמח וכל טוב ואבקש כשיצא לאור בע”ה הספרי שישלח לי ספר א' ”. תענית אסתר תשל”ב. נייר שורות כפול. 60 שורות בכי”ק וחתימתו של רבינו הגר”ח קניבסקי. 16/20 ס”מ. סימני קיפול וקרעים בהם. כתמים. מצב בינוני - טוב. רבינו הלל ב”ר אליקים מחכמי הראשונים. ככל הנראה חי בתקופתם של בעלי התוספות. חיבר פירוש על חלק ממדרשי ההלכה, וחיבורים נוספים שכתב לא הגיעו לידינו. פירושו נזכר בתוספות, וכן ע”י הר”ש משאנץ, הראבי”ה, הרי”ד, המרדכי ועוד. ספריו יצאו לאור בדפוס במהדורות שנערכו על ידי הרב שכנא קולידצקי.
