Copy that belonged to the Ksav Sofer, an illustrated manuscript on parchment! Tefilas Erev Rosh Chodesh, known as Yom Kippur Katan. Germany? 18th century. “Prayer for Erev Rosh Chodesh, known as Yom Kippur Katan, ” a beautiful and elegant manuscript on parchment, which belonged to the Ksav Sofer. Square, vowelized Hebrew script , with a few instructions in Yiddish-German in Tze'ena Ure'enah lettering. Illustrations appear in the prayer “ Rachamana Idkar Lan, ” totaling 9  colored illustrations within square frames. The script is square and vowelized, accompanied by a few instructions in Yiddish-German in Tze'ena Ure'ena lettering. Nine colored illustrations in square frames are incorporated in the Rachamana Idkar Lan prayer. There is an illustrated, colorful title page , and on the page following the title page, there is a dedication to the Ksav Sofer: “ Minchah hi shluchah...Rabban shel kol bnei hagolah ... Harav Shmuel Binyamin n”y. ” The name of the student is faded and difficult to decipher. Additional faint inscriptions appear in the edges of the title page and above the border of the title page. Germany? 18th century. 21 leaves; possibly missing one or two leaves at the end. 15.5 cm. Sans binding, and some of the leaves are detached. The illustrations are partially faded, as is some of the text. Water damage. A few small holes in the last leaf. Condition: Fair. The Ksav Sofer, Harav Avraham Shmuel Binyamin Sofer [1815-1871] was among the spiritual giants of his generation. He was the eldest son and successor of his illustrious father, the Chasam Sofer. He served as Av Beis Din of Pressburg and as the head of a large and distinguished yeshivah. His students became great Rabbanim in Hungary and its environs. Before the Chasam Sofer's passing, he summoned his son the Ksav Sofer, and after speaking to him and blessing him, he concluded with the blessing, ”Your ancestor Harav Akiva Eiger will be on your right; your ancestor the Maharsheishoch will be on your left; above you will be an angel; and I, too, will be behind you, fulfilling your words, ” and the Chasam Sofer's hands upon his head felt as if they were engulfed in fire. העותק של רבינו הכתב סופר, כתב יד מאויר על קלף! תפילת ערב ראש חודש והוא יום כיפור קטן. אשכנז? המאה ה - 18   'תפלת ערב ראש חודש שנקראת יום כפור קטן', כתב יד נאה ומפואר על קלף, אשר היה שייך לגאון רבינו מרן ה'כתב סופר'. כתב יד מרובע ומנוקד, עם מעט הוראות ביידיש-דויטש באותיות צו”ר. איורים בתפילת רחמנא אדכר לן, סה”כ 9 איורים צבעוניים בתוך מסגרת מרובעת. הכתב הינו כתב מרובע ומנוקד, בליווי מעט הוראות ביידיש-דויטש באותיות צו”ר. בתפילת ”רחמנא אדכר לן” משולבים תשעה איורים צבעוניים בתוך מסגרות מרובעות. שער מאויר וצבעוני, ובדף אחרי השער, עמוד עם הקדשה למרן הכתב סופר, ”מנחה היא שלוחה לא'מ'ו' רבן של כל בני הגולה מוה' אברהם שמואל בנימין נ”י”, שם התלמיד דהוי, וקשה לפענוח, בשולי השער ומעל מסגרת השער מופיעים רישומים דהויים נוספים. אשכנז? המאה ה - 18. כא דף; אולי חסר דף אחד או שניים בסוף. 15.5 ס”מ.  ללא כריכה, וחלק מהדפים מנותקים. הציורים דהויים בחלקם וכן מעט מהטקסט. נזקי רטיבות. מספר נקבים קטנים בדף אחרון. מצב בינוני. רבינו מרן הכתב סופר הגאון רבי אברהם שמואל בנימין סופר [תקע”ה - תרל”ב] מגדולי דורו. בנו בכורו וממלא מקום אביו הגאון רבינו מרן ה'חתם סופר'. כיהן כאב”ד פרשבורג וכראש ישיבה גדולה וחשובה. תלמידיו היו גדולי רבני הונגריה וסביבתה. לפני פטירתו של מרן החתם סופר קרא לבנו מרן הכתב סופר ולאחר שדיבר עמו ובירכו, סיים בברכתו: ”זקינך רבי עקיבא איגר מימינך זקינך מהרשש”ך משמאלך ומלאך פלוני על ראשך וגם אני אבוא אחריך ומלאתי את דבריך”, וידיו הקדושים היו כאש מתלקחת בשעת ברכתו.
