In most copies, the final four leaves (the index leaves) are missing; they are missing here as well. Leaves 529–535 and leaf 540 are missing as well. Antique binding, damaged. Age and moisture stains. Worming damage, in some cases with damage to text. Many adhesive repairs, mostly transparent, and a few tears. Overall Condition: Fair. ספר יסוד נדיר! 'יפה תאר' על מדרש רבה, לחומש בראשית. ויניציאה שנ”ז 1597. עותק חסר ספר 'יפה תואר' פירוש על מדרש רבה בראשית, מהגאון רבי שמואל יפה אשכנזי מקושטא, מגדולי חכמי וצדיקי דורו. ונציה, שנ”ז 1597. (קולופון: ”ותהי השלמתו ביום ו כ לחדש אלול שס”ו”). במקור תק”ם, 4 דף; ברוב העותקים חסרים 4 דפים אחרונים(דפי המפתחות) וגם בעותק שלפנינו הם חסרים, ובנוסף חסרים דפים תקכ”ט - תקל”ה ודף תק”ם(אמרי נועם ושיר בשבח הספר). 30 ס”מ.  כריכה עתיקה פגועה. כתמי זמן ורטיבות. נזקי עש בחלקם פגיעות בטקסט. הדבקות רבות בעיקר שקופות ומעט קרעים. באופן כללי מצב בינוני.
