9/14 ס"מ. מעבר לתמונה נרשם "התמונה הזאת היא תמונתו של מו"ר הרב זצלל"ה ...". הטקסט בולט מעט בתמונה. מעט קטמים וכתמים. באופן כללי מצב טוב.
הגאון רבי דוד סילמן נודע כעילוי עצום כבר מילדותו ואביו סיפר עליו, שהגאון רבי יוסף ענגיל מבענדין ביקר פעם בחאמעלניק, כשרבי דוד היה בן תשע, ורבי יוסף דיבר עמו מספר שעות בדברי תורה ולאחמ"כ נשקו על ראשו, ואמר לו: "צלח ורכב בתורה, כי כשרונותיך ככשרונותיו של רבי עקיבא אייגער".
