Originally manufactured by High Standard for Sears, Roebuck and Co. in the 1940s and 1950 REWORKED BY THE PREVIOS OWNER (an old army gunsmith) IT IS SOLID AND IN EXCELLENT CONDITION HE PUT AN EXTENDED BUTT PLATE ON THE STOCK SEE PICTURES. METAL PARTS HAVE BEEN PAINTED IT LOOKS LIKE ITS - The 583.15 was made by High Standard and was also known as the JC Higgins or Sears Model 10. 20-gauge, designed for 2-3/4 inch shells TUBE FED  TOTAL LENGTH IS 47.5” BARREL 26”
