A Pair of 1964-D United States Roosevelt Silver Dimes - This lot consists of two matching United States one dime coins struck in 90 percent silver and 10 percent copper. Produced at the Denver Mint in 1964, these specimens represent the final year that silver was used for circulating United States dimes. The obverse of each coin features a profile portrait of Franklin D. Roosevelt facing left. The reverse depicts a central torch flanked by an olive branch on the left and an oak branch on the right. Obverse marks include the word LIBERTY along the left margin, the phrase IN GOD WE TRUST in the lower-left field, and the date 1964 at the lower right. Small initials JS for designer John Sinnock are visible at the base of the neck truncation. The reverse bears the inscription UNITED STATES OF AMERICA along the upper rim and ONE DIME along the lower rim. The motto E • PLU RI B • US U • NUM is positioned across the center field. A raised D mint mark is located to the left of the torch base, positioned above the letter E in DIME. Weight: Approximately 2.50 grams each.
