It was in China, during their climb of the under-construction Goldin Finance 117 in Tianjin — at the time the tallest building under construction in the world — that Angela and Ivan met and fell in love. That trip became the beginning of a legend: a circus gymnast from Moscow and a seasoned rooftopper, whose joint video went viral around the globe. In 2024, Netflix released a documentary about them — “Skywalkers: A Love Story” — which premiered at Sundance. Then, on July 1, 2026, the couple climbed the spire of the Empire State Building in New York, where Ivan proposed to Angela — and both were arrested. The moment instantly made headlines worldwide.
