French Louis XVI-Style Aubusson Tapestry Fire Screen - A French fire screen in the Louis XVI taste, circa early twentieth century, with a carved and giltwood frame enclosing a tapestry panel worked with floral and foliate decoration on a mellow gold ground. The frame is crisply carved with a repeating laurel-leaf border, over scrolled legs joined by a stretcher carved with a twisted-rope motif.
