Emmanuel Villanis Bronze Sculpture Bust of Thais - Bronze Bust of Thaïs, Société des Bronzes de Paris Emmanuel Villanis, French, 1858–1914 Late 19th/early 20th century Bronze bust of Thaïs, signed in the cast along the shoulder “E. Villanis, ” with Société des Bronzes de Paris foundry/cachet mark verso and cold-stamped number “1146.” The bust is finished with varied patination, including reddish oxide tones to the skin and darker, gilt, silvered and burnished bronze tones to the hair, garment and integral socle. 21 1/2 in.
