Finely carved alabaster and marble bust of a young woman, her head turned slightly downward, with carved coiffure, jeweled forehead ornament, elaborate headdress, and circular ear ornaments. The headdress and ear ornaments are inset with fine micromosaic decoration, including floral motifs on a turquoise ground with black and white borders. Set with colored glass or paste cabochons, several now absent. Raised on a variegated green marble plinth. 22 5/8 in. H x 13 in. W x 7 in. D.
