Gothic Revival Carved Walnut Library Table With Heraldic Motif - Europe, late 19th/early 20th century Carved walnut library table incorporating an earlier Gothic-style tabletop, stained to a dark mahogany-brown tone with oxidized recesses. The top is carved with heraldic eagle-and-shield corner motifs, each shield with lion and castle panels, and framed by carved foliate and organic scrollwork panels. Front and back panels include a stylized “F.V.” The later base is in the Arts and Crafts taste, with chip-carved, turned, and naturalistically carved legs joined by a custom twisted wrought-iron stretcher rising to the underside of the top. 35” H x 36 1/2” D x 59 1/2” W
