Crescent Firearms Co. ”Knickerbocker” 12 Gauge Side-by-Side Shotgun — S/N 38494 - Crescent Firearms Company ”Knickerbocker” hammerless sidelock double barrel shotgun, 12 gauge, Norwich, Connecticut manufacture, circa 1905–1916. Double triggers. Walnut stock showing honest handling wear. Receiver retains traces of case hardening with expected age patina. Barrels inspected and confirmed fluid steel — not Damascus. Action opens and closes. Serial number 38494. A classic American hardware-store trade gun from one of the most prolific American shotgun makers of the early 20th century. The Knickerbocker was Crescent's first hammerless sidelock model, sold through hardware stores and sporting goods dealers throughout the country.
