Schroeder Bauman American Defender Lightweight Semi-Automatic Pistol, .45 ACP - Schroeder Bauman American Defender Lightweight 1911-pattern semi-automatic pistol chambered in .45 ACP, S/N 13-0140. Manufactured in Fort Wayne, Indiana by SWS-Trimac Inc., Schroeder Bauman produced a strictly limited line of hand-fitted, billet-machined 1911s engineered to standards well beyond production-grade pistols. According to the consignor, this example is one of only two Lightweight models produced — an extraordinary rarity from an already small-batch maker that discontinued production circa 2015. The pistol presents in excellent condition throughout. This example features a striking two-tone configuration: matte black aluminum frame paired with a polished stainless steel slide roll-marked ”AMERICAN DEFENDER” in gold lettering. The slide displays aggressive front and rear comb-cut serrations. Controls include a beavertail grip safety, skeletonized hammer, extended thumb safety, and a distinctively skeletonized trigger guard with three-hole lightening cuts. Black G10 grips bear the Schroeder Bauman shield medallion in gold. Fully adjustable rear sight. Includes one stainless factory magazine and original factory hard case. Barrel length to be confirmed. A compelling collector opportunity from a discontinued Indiana maker: exceptional craftsmanship, extreme scarcity, and strong local provenance in a single package.
