BRITISH 1ST PATTERN P-37 BRUNSWICK BAYONET - 1838
British regimentally marked first pattern P-37 Brunswick rifle bayonet. Many of these bayonets were imported to the United States during the Civil War. As obsolete bayonets, many imports would still have standard British stampings. This particular example is stamped with a crown over VR / ENFIELD 1838 on the ricasso and B.T on the reverse ricasso. The spine of the blade is engraved XX approximately 1" from the guard. The pommel is engraved with regimental numbers 7Co / 8 (7th Co. 8th Regiment.).Overall length is 26" with a 22" blade.
