Civil War .69 Caliber Garibaldi/Carcano Bullet - Gettysburg Recovered, Larry Marple Collection, P... - This item is a Civil War bullet, specifically identified as a .69 caliber Garibaldi or Carcano type, also referenced by the collector's mark M&M 199. These historical artifacts were recovered from the Gettysburg Battlefield in 1863. They were acquired from Pie Antiques in Gettysburg during the 1970s, a shop located directly across from General Lee's Headquarters. The accompanying documentation indicates that children would sell these bullets to the shop owner after finding them while plowing fields in Gettysburg.
