Vintage MSA 'Skullgard' Fireman's Helmet, circa 1940s-1950s - A vintage MSA 'Skullgard' Fireman's Helmet, manufactured by Mine Safety Appliances Co., Pittsburgh. This American-style helmet features a black composite shell with a broad brim and a domed crown. The front is adorned with a black leather shield embossed with ”USA FD” in raised red letters. The interior contains a fabric and leather suspension system, along with an original label identifying it as an ”M-S-A 'SKULLGARD' FIREMAN'S HELMET” in ”Size 7-3/8”. Patent dates on the interior label range from 1932 to 1941, indicating a mid-20th century production. A metal D-ring is attached to the brim.. Burns in-house shipping is available.
