William Cave, APOSTOLICI: Or, The History of the Lives, Acts, and Martyrdoms, 1687, London, Folio, Full Leather - Book: A 17th-century folio volume titled ”APOSTOLICI: OR, THE HISTORY OF THE Lives, Acts, and Martyrdoms OF THOSE Who were Contemporary with, or immediately Succeeded the APOSTLES. As also the most Eminent of the Primitive Fathers” by William Cave, published in London by Richard Chiswell in 1687. The imprimatur is dated January 5, 1682. The book features a full-leather binding with blind-tooled decorative borders and a central panel on the boards, and a spine with raised bands. Internally, the paper pages contain engraved illustrations, including portraits of S. Melito and Origen, and an elaborate frontispiece. Pages exhibit visible Greek text. Handwritten notes on the front endpaper include ”Plates of Portrait / Scarce” and ”fee C 9811”, alongside a red ”762” label.. Burns in-house shipping is available.
