Bidspirit auction | A Large Late 19th/Early 20th
A Large Late 19th/Early 20th Century Wall-Mounted Cast Iron Bell Assembly with Eagle Finial, Clapper Marked 'ADAM WHITE' - This substantial wall-mounted outdoor bell assembly is composed of a cast iron bell, a decorative scrolled iron bracket, and a cast iron eagle finial. The bell's exterior is painted in an off-white/grey hue, while its interior exhibits a yellowish-orange tone and is dusty with cobwebs. It houses a heavily corroded green-painted cast metal clapper, distinctly marked 'ADAM WHITE'. The bell is suspended from a dark-finished, scrolled wrought or cast iron bracket, which is surmounted by a white/grey-painted cast iron eagle with outstretched wings. The entire piece presents a rustic aesthetic, consistent with its likely dating from the late 19th or early 20th century. Overall length of bracket (from bell attachment point to far left scroll): 35.5 inches (90 cm) Eagle wingspan: 14 inches (35.5 cm) Bell height: 11.5 inches (29 cm).
