A Blackstone Mfg. Co. Inc. 'Super Chief' Illuminated Indian Head Hood Ornament, American, circa 1950s - A figural automotive mascot or ornament, widely attributed to Blackstone Mfg. Co. Inc., known as the 'Super Chief' model. This piece depicts a stylized Native American head with a full, flowing headdress, designed to be illuminated. The head is sculpted from an opaque, reddish-orange plastic or resin, featuring a painted blue band with yellow diamond motifs. The headdress consists of translucent yellow/amber plastic or resin feathers, set within a chrome-plated metal base with a scalloped edge. The metal base is marked ”MADE IN U.S.A.” and ”PAT. PEND.” Height: 4 5/8 inches (11.7 cm) Width: 1 3/4 inches (4.4 cm) Depth: 3 1/2 inches (8.9 cm). Burns in-house shipping is available.
