Early 19th Century English Straight Razor with Stamped Hammer - Early 19th century English made straight razor stamped with a hammer stamped at the tang. The ridged scales are wedge shaped, flat, and appear to be made of bone. Stub tail. The pins are iron. Width is 4/8. The stamped hammer was required by King George III in 1818 to designate razors not made of cast steel.. Burns in-house shipping is available. Pick up is Wednesday, Oct. 29, from Noon to 7 pm at our gallery in Lancaster, Ohio 43130 or we will provide in-house shipping for this item.
