A Group of Early 20th Century Halloween Postcards - This lot comprises four early 20th-century Halloween-themed postcards, dating between approximately 1910 and 1915 as evidenced by visible postmarks and copyright dates. Each postcard is made of paper and features chromolithographic illustrations, depicting classic holiday motifs such as jack-o'-lanterns, bats, and romantic or whimsical scenes. Accompanying phrases include ”Best Halloween Wishes,” ”May I Be your Halloween Beau?”, and ”A Happy Halloween.” The reverse sides are in the divided-back format, marked ”POST CARD,” with areas designated ”FOR CORRESPONDENCE” and ”FOR ADDRESS ONLY.” Several postcards bear green U.S. postage stamps depicting George Washington, along with postmarks from locations including Rockford, IL (1915), and a postmark dated October 30, 1911. The cards also feature handwritten messages and addresses, indicating their prior use. One postcard explicitly states ”Made in Saxony.”. Burns in-house shipping is available.
