A Group of Golden Age Halloween Postcards by Gibson, International Art Pub. Co., and Tuck - A Group of vintage Halloween-themed postcards, representative of the ”Golden Age” of postcard collecting, featuring chromolithographic illustrations. The collection includes examples from notable publishers such as The Gibson Art Co., International Art Pub. Co. (with a 1907 copyright), and ”The Tuck of Fine Production.” Two cards are signed by prominent artists Ellen H. Clapsaddle and Frances Brundage. Illustrations depict children engaged in various Halloween activities with pumpkins and costumes. Text on the cards includes ”Hallowe'en Greetings,” ”HALLOWE'EN,” and ”WISHING YOU A HIGHLY ENTERTAINING HALLOWE'EN.” The reverse of each card displays ”POST CARD” along with standard divided-back postal instructions for domestic and foreign postage. Some cards are marked ”Printed in Germany.” Three of the cards bear postmarks from October 1911 and November 1916, and feature one-cent George Washington stamps, handwritten messages, and addresses. Various series numbers are also visible. All cards are made of paper or cardstock and are housed in clear plastic protective sleeves.. Burns in-house shipping is available.
