A Group of Vintage Embossed Halloween Postcards, including Frances Brundage - A Group of vintage Halloween-themed postcards. Each card is protected within a clear plastic sleeve. One card features children, one holding a jack-o'-lantern, captioned ”Halloween Greetings” and marked ”Design Copyright 1910 by Frances Brundage.” Another depicts a scarecrow-like figure with jack-o'-lanterns, captioned ”GREETINGS FOR HALLOWEEN,” and is marked ”Whitney Made Worcester Mass.” to the reverse, also bearing handwritten inscriptions ”from Ethel” and ”Robert Loery.” A third card shows an owl on a branch with a black cat silhouette against a full moon, bearing the sentiment ”A HAPPY HALLOWEEN With kindred spirits tried and true May Halloween be fine for you,” and is marked ”Printed in Germany,” ”Halloween” Series-Postcard No. 120,” and with a ”G” trademark on the reverse. The fourth card illustrates a woman looking into a mirror to see a man's reflection, bordered by apples, with the text ”By the candle's light He may be seen, At twelve o'clock On Hallowe'en,” and is marked ”THE DUPON CO. N.Y. & K.C. Series No. 400” to the reverse. The backs uniformly present ”POST CARD” text with delineated spaces for correspondence and address, and include varying postal instructions such as ”United States & Canada One Cent” / ”Foreign Two Cents” or ”DOMESTIC ONE CENT” / ”FOREIGN TWO CENTS.” Some examples exhibit embossing..
