A Collection of Early 20th Century Vintage Halloween Postcards - A Group of vintage Halloween-themed postcards, all made of paper and housed in individual clear plastic sleeves. Each postcard features colorful illustrations typical of early 20th-century holiday greetings, depicting witches, black cats, jack-o'-lanterns, and fortune-telling chestnuts. Postmarks visible on three of the backs date them to ”OCT 10 1912”, ”OCT 29 1913”, and ”OCT 3 1910” respectively. All observed backs are of the divided-back style, featuring ”U.S. POSTAGE 1 CENT” stamps, handwritten addresses, and producer markings such as ”PRINTED IN GERMANY” or ”Made in Saxony.” Visible English text on the fronts includes ”HALLOWEEN GREETINGS,” ”Oct. 31st,” ”GREETINGS FOR HALLOWEEN,” and a rhyme: ”If on the night of Halloween the witches light is burning GREEN Your own true love will soon be seen.”.
