A Collection of Early 20th Century Antique Halloween Postcards, including Brennan, Tuck - This collection comprises four distinct antique Halloween-themed postcards, primarily dating from the early 20th century, with visible postmarks indicating dates between 1910 and 1915. Each card is made of paper, featuring color lithographic illustrations, often with embossed details. The first card, copyrighted 1908 by Brennan Card Co., depicts children apple bobbing under the title ”The Joys of Halloween.” The second is a ”TUCK'S POSTCARD Series No. 130, Printed in Germany” by Raphael Tuck & Sons, illustrating a woman looking into a mirror, accompanied by the stylized text ”Halloween.” The third card, titled ”Halloween Joys,” shows a haunted house scene with a decorative carved carrot. Two separate examples of its reverse side are present: one postmarked ”OCT 31 1910” addressed to Fred H. Player in Hazleton, Ohio, and the other postmarked ”OCT 2 1915” addressed to Mr. Wm Huffman in Ashtabula, Ohio. Both bear a U.S. 1-cent postage stamp and handwritten English messages conveying greetings and discussing Halloween cards, candy, and fruit. The final card features a scene with a boy in bed, black cats, and a figure by a fireplace, with the inscription ”All Good Luck This Halloween.” The reverse sides of the postcards are divided for messages and addresses, marked with ”POST CARD,” ”CARTE POSTALE” (French for 'postcard'), and ”POSTKARTE” (German for 'postcard')..
