A Group of Early 20th Century Vintage Halloween Postcards - This lot comprises four vintage Halloween postcards, each protected within a clear sleeve. Crafted from paper or cardstock, these postcards primarily date to the early 20th century, as evidenced by a ”OCT 31 1921” postmark and a ”PILGRIM TERCENTENARY 1620-1920 ONE CENT” stamp visible on one card. The fronts feature colorful chromolithographic illustrations depicting traditional Halloween themes, including witches, jack-o'-lanterns, children, and spectral figures. Accompanying greetings include ”MERRY HALLOWEEN,” ”HALLOWEEN GREETINGS,” ”Wishing you a Jolly Halloween,” and poetic verses such as ”A Spooky Halloween I hope the goblins pass you by, But if they catch you, don't you cry” and ”What's meant for thee thee'll have.” The reverse sides display divided postcard layouts with designated spaces for correspondence and address.
