A Collection of Vintage H.E. Luhrs and Beistle Halloween Die-Cut Decorations, Mid-20th Century - A collection of vintage Halloween die-cut decorations by H.E. Luhrs and The Beistle Company, dating from the mid-to-late 20th century. The assortment includes various printed cardboard and paper stock cut-out figures, many marked ”MADE IN U.S.A.” Prominently featured is an embossed black cat on a crescent moon, marked ”Copr. H. E. Luhrs” and with patent numbers ”PAT. 199346, PAT: 199567.” Other designs include additional black cats (some embossed or with metallic foil accents, some articulated), grinning jack-o'-lanterns, owls, witches, scarecrows, and articulated skeletons. A packaged ”7 FT. FLAMEPROOF BANNER” and a package of ”40 TREAT BAGS” are explicitly labeled ”A Beistle Creation © 1979 THE BEISTLE CO. Shippensburg, Pa. 17257 U.S.A.” Embossed black cat on crescent moon: 14 inches (35.5 cm) wide Foil pumpkin with top hat: 10.5 inches (26.7 cm) tall Articulated skeletons: 9.5 inches (24 cm) tall.
