A J. & E. Stevens Co. 'Hall's Excelsior' Cast Iron Mechanical Bank, dated 1869 - A J. & E. Stevens Co. 'Hall's Excelsior' cast iron mechanical bank, circa 1869. This late 19th-century mechanical bank is designed in the form of a miniature bank building. It features cream, blue, and red painted details, including architectural elements such as textured walls, ornate windows, a central door, and a stepped entry. The front facade is clearly marked ”HALLS EXCELSIOR BANK”. A key feature is the animated figure, depicted as a seated banker or teller in a pink jacket and white shirt, which emerges from a compartment on the roof, indicative of its mechanical function. The roof also bears the inscription ”PAT. DEC. 3, 1869”. Height: 5.5 inches. Burns in-house shipping is available.
