A Kyser & Rex Cast Iron 'Organ Bank' Mechanical Bank, Patented 1881 - An American-made Kyser & Rex cast iron 'Organ Bank' mechanical bank, patented May 31, 1881. This polychrome painted bank features a seated monkey figure, dressed in red and yellow attire, holding a blue hat and a small tray. The monkey is positioned on a rectangular base designed to resemble an organ, which includes a crank on the side and a diamond-patterned grille on the front. Visible text cast into the base reads ”ORGAN BANK” on the top panel and ”PAT. MAY 31 1881” on the lower front panel. Height: 6.25 inches Base: 4.25 x 3.5 inches. Burns in-house shipping is available. Pick up is Wednesday, Oct. 29, from Noon to 7 pm at our gallery in Lancaster, Ohio 43130 or we will provide in-house shipping for this item.
