A group of Carved Mother-of-Pearl and Abalone Buttons - A group of buttons, individually secured by colored threads to a white display card. The buttons are crafted from iridescent mother-of-pearl or abalone shell, displaying a spectrum of natural hues from silvery-white to deep grey with shimmering pink, green, and brown overtones. Each button features a unique carved or etched design, encompassing a variety of styles including geometric patterns such as stars, grids, and triangles, stylized floral and leaf motifs, and radial sunburst patterns. Fastening mechanisms vary, often with a central area for two, three, or group of holes, or a bar/slot. The reverse of the display card bears handwritten text ”group of BUTTONS”, ”NUMBER 13E”, and ”BY SDA”, along with a faint notation at the top left. Card measures approximately 9 x 6 inches. Burns in-house shipping is available. Pick up is Saturday, Nov. 22, from 11 am to 2 pm at our gallery in Lancaster, Ohio 43130 or we will provide in-house shipping for this item.
