A Collector's Card of Antique and Vintage Black Glass Buttons, Late 19th to Early 20th Century - A curated group of antique and vintage black glass buttons, presented on an aged, grid-lined collector's card. The buttons exhibit a wide range of styles and construction, including faceted, molded, embellished with steel beads or metal, cloth-backed, and some with applied white elements, identified in handwritten annotations as possibly vegetable ivory or cameo-style. Specific designs noted on the card include ”Swirl-Back,” ”Heart Pat.,” ”Scallop-Border,” ”Coronet,” ”Berry,” and ”Melon.” Materials identified in handwritten annotations include brass, steel, cloth, glass, and ”Veg. Ivory.” Numerous notes date many buttons to the late 19th century, specifically ”1880,” with patent information such as ”Pat. Dec. 28 1880” and ”PAT's App. Paid FOR 12-28/1880.” Some buttons are marked ”Made-In-FRANCE” and ”Depose” (registered/patented in French), indicating varied origins.
