A group of Late 19th to Early 20th Century Decorative Buttons - A group of decorative buttons, predominantly round but including square example, mounted on a cream-colored card. The buttons, dating from the late 19th to early 20th century, display a wide array of styles and materials. Common materials include brass, bronze, and other gold or silver-toned metals, often embellished with black or dark blue enamel or paint, intricate relief work, filigree, textured surfaces, and sometimes small glass 'jewels.' Notable examples within the collection include a polished black button with an iridescent mother-of-pearl inlay, a marbled glass dome button, a square button with geometric patterns, and a large round button depicting a knight's helmet, shield, and axe. No manufacturer's marks or legible text are visible on the buttons. Card measures approximately 8 inches (20.3 cm) in height and 6 inches (15.2 cm) in width. Burns in-house shipping is available. Pick up is Saturday, Nov. 22, from 11 am to 2 pm at our gallery in Lancaster, Ohio 43130 or we will provide in-house shipping for this item.
