A Collection of Late Victorian to Edwardian Era Mixed Metal Buttons - A collection of numerous antique or vintage buttons, predominantly circular and crafted from various metals including brass, bronze, and steel. The buttons often feature a japanned or patinated dark finish with gilt or silver-toned accents. The styles are eclectic, encompassing intricate geometric and floral designs, pictorial motifs depicting animals such as deer, an elephant-like head, and birds, as well as allegorical scenes featuring crossed tools and weapons. Some buttons incorporate faceted ”jeweled” patterns, with elements of paste glass or cut steel. The designs are visually consistent with late Victorian to Edwardian era aesthetics, possibly extending into the early 20th century. The buttons are mounted on a cream-colored cardstock display with hand-drawn blue ink circles framing each item. No visible manufacturer's marks or text are present on the buttons themselves.
