Crafted primarily from various metals, including brass, bronze, and silver-toned alloys, many buttons exhibit an aged patina; some are further embellished with enamel, small faceted glass elements, or intricate repoussé detailing. The diverse motifs largely feature avian subjects such as peacocks, owls, cranes, and other birds in natural settings, alongside various floral patterns, abstract designs, and notable nautical scene with an anchor and ship.
