Bidspirit auction | A Collection of Late 19th
A Collection of Late 19th to Early 20th Century Pictorial Metallic Buttons, Mounted - A group of antique metallic buttons, predominantly round and varying in size, mounted on a cream-colored card within hand-drawn blue circles. The buttons are crafted from brass or bronze alloys and display a range of finishes including gilt, patination, and contrasting metal accents. The pictorial style features detailed architectural landscapes in relief, depicting elements such as castles, churches, towers, windmills, bridges, and houses, often integrated with trees or decorative borders. The aesthetic suggests a late 19th to early 20th-century origin. The reverse of the mounting card bears handwritten English notations stating, ”Pay No Attention to Prices - To Low,” ”Old Values,” and ”Not up dated,” along with various numerical figures associated with small string fragments, indicating that any listed values are obsolete. Card: 11 inches (27.9 cm) high, 8 inches (20.3 cm) wide. Buttons: Ranging from approximately 0.5 inches (1.3 cm) to 1.25 inches (3.2 cm) in diameter. Burns in-house shipping is available.
