The buttons showcase a diverse array of figural and pictorial designs, largely executed in relief, depicting genre scenes, mythological figures, knights, animals, and portraits, characteristic of late Victorian or early 20th-century styles. Materials comprise varied metals, including brass, bronze, silver-toned alloys, and possibly steel. Many buttons feature patination, black enamel, or lacquer details, with some exhibiting contrasting two-tone or iridescent finishes such as purple and red.
