A Collection of Vintage Buttons, 'SQUARES' Theme, Late 19th to Mid-20th Century - A group of vintage buttons, predominantly featuring square motifs or central square designs, securely affixed to a cream-colored, textured display card. The collection, titled 'SQUARES' at the top and numbered 'no 35' on the reverse of the card, spans from the late 19th to the mid-20th century. Materials include iridescent mother-of-pearl (some carved), various early plastics (such as black, amber, cream, red, and patterned), brass, bronze, gilt metal, enameled glass, and a fabric-covered example. Styles range from ornate classical or rococo-inspired designs with figurative elements and applied studs, to geometric patterns, abstract forms, and simpler faceted or carved plastics. Display card: 9 inches (22.86 cm) high, 6 inches (15.24 cm) wide. Buttons range from approximately 0.5 inches (1.27 cm) to 1.5 inches (3.8 cm) in diameter. Burns in-house shipping is available. Pick up is Saturday, Nov. 22, from 11 am to 2 pm at our gallery in Lancaster, Ohio 43130 or we will provide in-house shipping for this item.
