A Collection of Diverse Figural and Decorative Buttons, Including Hunting and Fishing Motifs - A group of diverse buttons, neatly arranged on an aged, light-colored card with hand-drawn blue circles marking their positions. The buttons exhibit a variety of styles, predominantly figural, depicting scenes such as hunters, animals including a boar, a standing female figure with dogs, and mythological or allegorical characters, alongside decorative patterns. Materials include various metals such as brass, bronze-tone, silver-tone, and black japanned or enameled finishes. Notable pieces include with a purple iridescent sheen, another with bright blue enamel, a white ceramic button featuring a colorful hand-painted fishing fly, and a carved dark-colored button shaped like a fish, possibly horn or wood. metal button distinctly displays the French motto ”BOUTEZ EN AVANT” (meaning ”Push Forward” or ”Charge Forward”) above the image of a boar. Card measures approximately 9 inches (22.8 cm) high by 7 inches (17.8 cm) wide. Buttons range in diameter from approximately 0.5 inches (1.2 cm) to 1.5 inches (3.8 cm).
