A group of Antique and Vintage Fowl-Themed Buttons, Mixed Materials - A collection comprising group of mostly circular buttons, each depicting roosters, hens, or chicks in various styles. The buttons are mounted on a cream-colored card with blue ink outlines. Materials observed include brass or gilt metal, silver-tone metal, cut steel, porcelain, plastic, and fabric. Designs range from highly detailed relief carvings on metal, some exhibiting dark patination or enamel contrasting with bright metallic finishes, to painted imagery such as a porcelain button featuring a chick on a pussy willow branch, molded plastic examples, and woven fabric buttons. The collection showcases a diverse array of button manufacturing techniques and periods.
