A group of Antique Egyptian Revival and Classical Revival Buttons, 19th/20th Century - A group of assorted antique buttons, predominantly circular and varying in size, presented on an off-white card with penciled circles indicating placement. The buttons primarily feature Egyptian Revival and Classical Revival themes, crafted from materials such as patinated and gilt metal, some with enamel or blackening, and a few embellished with small faceted stones. Designs include various pharaoh busts, sphinxes, pyramids, Egyptian deities, hieroglyphs, and other symbolic motifs. cream-colored button clearly displays stylized hieroglyphs that translate to ”TUTANKHAMUN,” while another gilt metal button shows a classical figure and is marked ”CAESAR IMP.” (Latin for ”Caesar Imperator” or ”Caesar Commander/Emperor”). A white button in a metal bezel features a classical female bust in cameo style. The reverse of a similar card reveals handwritten notes with pricing and descriptive labels such as ”Antony + Cleopatra,” ”Pharaohs in Chariot,” and ”Egyptian motifs,” indicating a curated collection.
