A Collection of Late 19th / Early 20th Century Black Glass 'Longies' Buttons and Adornments with Gilt, Silver-Tone, and Iridescent Decoration - A collection comprising group of individual decorative items, predominantly elongated buttons or adornments. Each piece is crafted from black glass and features a diverse range of molded and applied decoration, primarily in gilt, silver-tone, or subtle multi-color iridescence. Motifs include intricate floral, scrolling, geometric patterns such as Greek key and lattice, and paisley designs. Several items are explicitly labeled ”Encrusted” on the accompanying display board, which is titled ”Black Glass Longies.” section is also marked ”Purple,” referring to pieces exhibiting a slight iridescent sheen. These items are indicative of a late 19th or early 20th-century aesthetic and are meticulously displayed on gridded paper.
