A group of Vintage Metallic Animal Motif Buttons, including Teddy Roosevelt Teddy Bear Examples - This lot comprises a group of vintage metallic buttons, notably including several Teddy Roosevelt Teddy Bear examples, alongside a diverse array of other animal motifs. The buttons vary in size and shape, predominantly circular with some square examples, and are composed primarily of metallic materials, exhibiting brass, bronze, and silver tones. Some buttons incorporate enamel (notably red) or dark, possibly resin, backgrounds. Animal motifs include numerous lion heads and full-body depictions, foxes, bears, a rhinoceros, and a giraffe, rendered in both realistic and stylized forms. A specific button features a seated lion motif with the inscription ”UNION FAIT LA FORGE” and ”2 CENT.” The buttons are mounted on an aged and discolored cardboard display card, which bears the handwritten title ”Things at The Zoo and Circus” in pink ink. Card measures approximately 8 inches (20.3 cm) high by 5 inches (12.7 cm) wide. Buttons range in diameter from approximately 0.5 inches (1.3 cm) to 1.25 inches (3.2 cm).
