A Collection of Vintage and Antique Buttons, Late 19th to Mid-20th Century, Mixed Materials - A group of vintage and antique buttons, meticulously arranged and secured to a grid-patterned, aged cream-colored card, likely originating from a collector's or dealer's inventory. The buttons display a wide variety of materials including carved mother-of-pearl, iridescent abalone shell, polished and carved natural materials (such as wood or nut), various metals (some adorned with rhinestones or intricate detailing), enamel, and micro-mosaic depicting architectural scenes. Styles range from simple polished forms to intricately carved floral and geometric patterns. Handwritten annotations in blue ink on the card include ”Wh metal 71-”, ”1.50”, ”need”, ”French”, ”unmounted”, and ”Hampton”, along with other indistinct scribbles. The reverse of the card reveals numerous wires and safety pins used for button attachment. Card measures approximately 9.5 inches (24.1 cm) in height by 6.5 inches (16.5 cm) in width.
